Swiss Solar AG, a Switzerland-based solar panel manufacturer, has made the announcement to establish a panel factory in Turkey.
According to the statement of the company, the facility will initially consist of three separate production lines, each with an annual production capacity of 500 MW.
Besides, in these production lines, bifacial solar panels with 450 Wp, 500 Wp and 545 Wp power capacity will be produced.
The company aims to reach 5 GW of capacity with 10 lines by 2027
Swiss Solar AG aims to increase its production line and panel powers gradually and to have an annual production capacity of 5 GW at its facility in Turkey in 2027. Moreover, the company will produce double-sided panels with a power of 590 Wp.
According to the statement of the company, the investment will meet the demands of regular customers of Swiss Solar AG. Besides, it will also provide the opportunity to open new markets.
Easy access to the European and North and South American markets has been effective in the location choice in Turkey. Because Turkey offers convenient transportation and logistics infrastructure that enables both sea and land deliveries.

Swiss Solar AG to establish a factory in Turkey with an investment of approximately 50 million Euros
In the company’s statement to PV Magazine, 50 million Swiss Francs, approximately 50 million Euros, have already been invested in the factory. Besides, there will be more details about the investment in the next months.
There are sectoral predictions that the market share of double-sided solar panels will be 17% in 2024. The market share in 2030, on the other hand, will be at least 35%.
