Housing Sales Statistics of Turkey | January 2022

Housing sales for January 2022 have been finally announced!

Turkish Statistical Institute has revealed the house sales statistics of Turkey for January 2022. The official institute has announced the figures on its official website.

January 2022 | 88 thousand 306 housing sales in total in Turkey

In Turkey, housing sales increased by 25.1% in January 2022 compared to January 2021. Housing sales reached the figure of 88 thousand 306.

Istanbul had the highest share with 17.1% and 15 thousand 110 house sales. The second follower city with the most sales was Ankara with 8 thousand 255 house sales with a share of 9.3%. Izmir came after Ankara with 5 thousand 486 house sales with a share of 6.2%.

27 thousand 203 brand-new houses were sold

In Turkey, brand-new house sales increased by 22.2% in January 2022 compared to January 2021. It became 27 thousand 203. Besides, brand-new housing sales had a 30.8% share of all house sales.

January 2022 | Foreigners bought 4 thousand 186 houses

Housing sales to foreigners increased by 56.5% in January 2022 compared to January 2021. It became 4 thousand 186. Housing sales to foreigners had a 4.7% share of all house sales in Turkey.

Furthermore, Istanbul ranked first with one thousand 771 sales to foreigners. The followers of Istanbul were Antalya with 914 house sales and Ankara with 269 housing sales to foreigners.

Housing sales were mostly made to Iran and Iraq citizens

In January 2022, Iran citizens bought 761 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iran citizens were Iraq citizens with 513 house sales and Russian citizens with 479 house sales. Besides, the citizens of Germany, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Jordan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Yemen, the UK, Kuwait, the United States of America were among the nationalities who preferred buying houses in Turkey in January 2022.
