    GDP Growth Figures for the Third Quarter of 2021 | Increase by 7.4%

    Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has announced the periodical GDP (gross domestic product) data for the July-September period. Accordingly, GDP growth figures for the third quarter of 2021 increased by 7.4%.

    GDP Growth Figures for the Third Quarter | Increase of eal estate activities

    When the chained volume index compared to the previous year, in the third quarter of 2021;

    • Professional, administrative and support service activities increased by 25.4%,
    • Information and communication activities increased by 22.6%,
    • Services 20.7 percent, other service activities increased by 11.7%,
    • Industry increased by 10%,
    • Public administration, education, human health and social service activities increased by 8.3%,
    • Real estate activities increased by 4.7%.

    Decrease in other areas

    On the other hand,

    • Finance and insurance activities decreased by 19.9%,
    • Construction decreased by 6.7%,
    • Agriculture, forestry and fishery decreased by 5.9%.

    GDP chained volume index increased by 2.7%

    The calendar-adjusted GDP chained volume index increased by 2.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.

    Also, the calendar-adjusted GDP chained volume index increased by 7.8 percent in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

    The estimation of Gross Domestic Product by production approach

    The estimation of Gross Domestic Product by production approach increased by 35.5% in the third quarter of 2021 at current prices compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The figures reach 1 trillion 915 billion 467 million Turkish Liras.

    The third quarter value of GDP reached 225 billion 497 million in US dollars at current prices.

    GDP growth figures for the third quarter and the positive contribution of exports

    Regarding the growth figures of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Mus, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, said, “Turkey continues to grow with exports. Our economy grew by 7.4% in the 3rd quarter. The contribution of net exports to growth was 6.8 points. 92% of our growth was managed along with the contribution of exports. Exports will continue to be the driving force of our growth.”
