Karaman-Konya high-speed train was put into operation last Saturday with the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkish President Erdogan paid a visit to Karaman on January 8, 2022, to attend the collective opening ceremony of the completed projects including the Karaman-Konya High-Speed Train Line. President Erdogan delivered a speech addressing the citizens who came to Konya High-Speed Train Meram Station to welcome him. He also made important statements during his speech. There are 21 vehicle underpasses, 20 vehicle overpasses and 15 pedestrian underpasses within the scope of the train project.

The first Islamabad-Istanbul freight train departing from Islamabad reached Ankara within the scope of the ITI Freight Train Project between Pakistan, Iran and Turkey. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu attended the welcoming ceremony for the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) freight train. Representatives from Iran and Pakistan also attended the ceremony at the Historic Ankara Train Station. After highlighting that Turkey broke a record with exports of 225 billion dollars in 2021, the minister also said that Turkey’s share in the world trade volume surpassed 1 percent for the first time in the history of the Turkish Republic.

Dudullu-Bostanci metro line starts operations in 2022. During the 2020 – 2021 period, IMM restarted the works by using the municipality’s resources. IMM spokesman Murat Ongun finally gave the good news to the people of Istanbul. He said that “When we took over the municipality duty, we continued the works for the line. Before us, 50% of it was completed but the construction was stopped. Trial drives have started again. We are completing under-construction metro lines one by one.” Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) started the construction of the Dudullu-Bostanci metro line with 13 stations.
